Better organization, finding a dozen or so solutions under time pressure, breaking the language barrier, or making new friends that I think were made for years to come: these are just a few of the things I gained from taking part in this project.

We had many funny situations. From the time perspective, I find it amusing that we hadn’t had any problems with trains until the last day when we realized that we’d got to the wrong train and the food fell out of our bags. I was really surprised by the fact that it was easy to get along everywhere, in small towns and big cities.

The trip taught me, above all, to distance myself from the issues that kept appearing – we sometimes had to make quick decisions and react quickly to circumstances. Maintaining mental acuity and a good sense of humour at the same time is challenging. However, I think we managed to cope with it quite well.

The funniest moment I’ll remember most was when we slept on the floor in our swimsuits while we were debugging, and we managed to laugh about it despite the difficult conditions. It shows that even in the hardest and most stressful moments, we found reasons to be happy.
