My DiscoverEU Story Contest 2026

Welcome to the official submission page of the My DiscoverEU Story contest. Submit your photo and story to inspire future DiscoverEU travellers and help build a youth-driven platform full of real experiences, tips and reflections.

Submissions are open until 9 May 2026.

Contest Rules (Summary)

To take part in the My DiscoverEU Story contest, you must:

  1. Read the contest rules and guidelines available on this page (PDF)
  2. Submit one travel photo from your DiscoverEU journey (JPG or PNG)
  3. Write a short story (100–150 words) in English describing your experience

Your story should ideally include:

  • practical travel tips and travel hacks
  • challenges you faced and how you overcame them
  • cultural discoveries and intercultural learning
  • inclusion-related aspects (barriers, accessibility, support)
  • what you learned thanks to DiscoverEU

important rules:

  • each participant can submit only one entry (one photo + one story)
  • the photo must be original and cannot be a copy
  • the submission must not contain offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate content
  • submissions are not published automatically – they will be reviewed and approved by the organisers

technical requirements:

  • Photo format: JPG or PNG
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

1Complete the submission form below (name and email address)
2Upload one travel photo from your DiscoverEU journey (e.g. a selfie, a train moment, a city view, or a meaningful situation)
3Write a short story (100–150 words) describing your DiscoverEU experience
4Click “Submit” to send your entry
Note: After submission, your entry will be reviewed by the organisers. If it meets the contest requirements, it will be published on the platform and included in the voting stage.

Prizes & Results

The winners will be selected based on a combination of public voting and jury evaluation. Top entries will receive prizes and special recognition, and the winning stories will be featured on the platform and promoted through the project’s communication channels.
The results will be announced after the voting stage by 5 June 2026.
The three photos with the highest number of valid votes will receive the following prizes:

1st place – accommodation voucher worth EUR 80 (e.g. Airbnb)
2nd place – travel voucher worth 50 EUR (e.g. FlixBus or similar travel platform)
3rd place – travel voucher worth 20 EUR (e.g. FlixBus or similar travel platform)

In addition to the public voting results, one Jury Award will be granted in the form of a travel experience voucher worth 50 EUR (e.g. GetYourGuide or similar).

What happens with your submission?

  • Approved stories will be published on the project platform as inspiration for future DiscoverEU participants. Selected contributions may also be used in project materials, reports and recommendations related to DiscoverEU and the Inclusion Action.
