Real routes, real stories
DiscoverEU is not just about train tickets – it’s thousands of kilometers of memories and found friendships. Read the stories of our participants who ventured into the unknown and returned with a suitcase full of inspiration. See Europe through their eyes!
In practice, our journey truly took on the shape of a real European cinematic collage. In addition to the cities envisaged in the basic route, during implementation we extended the trip to Prague and Vienna, so that across several countries and cities we encountered not only different cinematic references, but also the broader cultural space of Central Europe.

The very first day was special, because from the train we watched the landscapes of Slovenia and Austria, feeling that what lay ahead was not only a journey through cities, but also a genuine experience of Europe in motion. In Munich, we learned how to use public transport, explored Marienplatz, visited the Frauenkirche, and climbed the tower of Alter Peter, from which there is a view over the whole city.

The very first day already showed us what would characterise the whole journey: constant movement, changing landscapes, encounters with different cities, and the feeling that Europe was unfolding before us like a mosaic made up of history, architecture, languages and everyday scenes.

Our journey began in Bled, where on the first day we enjoyed the view of the lake, the castle and the mountain landscape, which immediately set the tone for the entire route. Walking around Lake Bled was the perfect introduction to what lay ahead, because from the very beginning we felt the distinctiveness of a place where nature and tranquillity merge with tourism and everyday life.
