My first destination was Barcelona, I met up with my friend who is an international student from England. We decided to head to Casa Mila and get a good view of the beautiful Catalan architecture. On the rooftop however, we encountered two other Danish tourists. We overheard and understood their conversation, they happened to talk about how the chimneys, in fact, looked like giant turds. So we went up to them, and asked in Danish if they would like to take a picture for us, at the said, “giant turd”. We had a good laugh at it and ended up with a lovely photo. Afterwards we grabbed dinner together and exchanged socials. Great start to the journey if I say so myself. A lesson to be careful with your words even if you think that no one understands your native language.
