A suitcase or a backpack - that is the question 🙂

I'd like to clear up the confusion once and for all. Which is better: a suitcase or a backpack?

Opinions are very divided on this matter.

Suitcase = no back pain, better organization of belongings, if it's rigid, it protects the items inside better, it's rainproof, it can be used as a chair or a table 🙂

Backpack = back pain, easier to run with, easier to fit on a tight train, harder to find something in it that's at the very bottom, it could be a bed 🙂

I would decide based on the route. If you change cities every few days and have several train connections, a backpack is easier to move around with. If you mostly stay in one place, a suitcase makes sense.

But a backpack only works if you can carry it comfortably. Before leaving, pack everything and walk with it for 20 minutes, including some stairs. You will probably remove a few things when you get home 🙂

What did you take on your first trip that you would leave at home next time?
