On the way to Rome...
Hi! My name is Monika and I am travelling right now with the group from the program DiscoverEU Inclusion. Yesterday we have stayed in Prague, Czech Republic and had opportunity to meet with some Czech friends. It was an amazing experience! Prague is very beautiful. I can also say that organisation and planning is a very important thing. We wanted to visit the castle in Prague, but we have reached there almost at closing time. We were a bit dissappointed, but we took learning from that - next time confirm hours by calling the place or to plan important things as a first stop. After each day from the beginning, I am recommending to do a small reflection with the group. Nothing too serious or complicated. Just ask yourself and the group 3 questions: 1. What did you like about this day? 2. What did you learn? (about the country, about the travel, about yourself) 3. If you could repeat this day, what would you do differently? This 3 questions can help you and the group understand what the group likes, what did they learn and also learn from the mistakes and improve next days for the comfort of the whole group. Communication is the key. The group already started to call me ,,Mommy". It's funny, but I guess I am giving this mommy vibes. I always want everyone to feel understood, listened to and included. I also know when to say no. I think it's important to have the respect and trust of the group, but at the same time to just be a friend they can talk to.
